Terms and Conditions - From November 1, 2008

Sydney Venue is a fully owned division of Social Life Pty Ltd. ABN 26 112 497 542. All contracts are between hiring party (the client) and Social Life Pty Ltd.

Hours of Operation

Week day daytime bookings operate from 8.30am to 6.00pm. Weeknight bookings finish at 10pm or 11pm on Friday night.  Saturday bookings can operate from 10.00am - midnight, and Sunday bookings from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Client must vacate the rooms at the scheduled times agreed at time of booking. Facilitators are allowed to access rooms up to 30 mins prior to time of booking. Should a client require more than 30 mins to prepare the space this will be treated as an additional booking and added to the invoice.

Booking & Payments

>> For corporate bookings for company training, a 20% deposit of total venue hire fees is required to secure a booking.

>> This amount is due within 48 hours of the booking notification.

>> For public courses where places are to be sold prior to the event, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of total venue hire fees is required to secure a booking. This amount is due within 48 hours of booking notification.

>> Social Life Pty Ltd accepts payment by credit card or electronic funds transfer. We reserve the right to pass on a 3% service fee on American Express cards.

>> The deposit will be credited against your final account.

Tentative Bookings

>> Sydney Venue will hold tentative bookings for 48 hours, whilst client is confirming dates.

>> Should another party wish to make a firm booking for a date tentatively held by you, we attempt to contact you regarding a go / no go decision before releasing it to another party.  However we reserve the right to release the date it we don't get an answer within 2 hours of an attempted contact, as this holds up the decision process for other clients.

Full Payment

>> Full payment must be made the day prior to the booking date, with any additional charges requiring settlement within seven days of attendance at Sydney Venue. Social Life Pty Ltd accepts payment by credit card or electronic funds transfer. We reserve the right to pass on a 3% service fee on American Express cards.

>> If payment is not made within 14 days of booking date, Social Life will invoice a further 20% of room hire fees as a late payment penalty. Subsequent bookings from any company that has made a late payment will need to be paid in full 7 days prior to the booking.

Cancellation of Venue Hire

>> Full refund of deposit will be made if cancellation notice is received 60 days or more prior to booking

>> With 31 - 60 days notice 50% of the deposit will be refunded.

>> With 15 - 30 days notice of cancellation the deposit is not refundable.

>> With 8 - 14 days notice a further 50% of the total venue hire fee will be invoiced to the client, (bringing total invoice to 70% of costs).

>> With 7 or fewer days notice of cancellation, the total venue hire fee will be invoiced to the client, in addition catering will be invoiced if booking is cancelled within 48 hours of confirmed event.

>> Notice of cancellation can be given in writing (including email) or by phone.

>> We cater for numbers agreed prior to the day of your booking. These numbers cannot be reduced within 48 hours of booking as that is when food orders are placed.

>> Should we book to another party after you have been invoiced cancellation penalties we will credit your account with the corresponding amount of the penalty to be used at Sydney Venue within the next 12 months.

Postponement

One postponement per booking deposit is permitted if notice of postponement is received at least 30 days prior to original booking date. This facility is available only once per booking and applies only if the booking is transferred to a firm date. Note, availabilities cannot be guaranteed and if a suitable date cannot be found date changes will be treated as per cancellations (terms above). Postponement terms only apply with more than 30 days notice. With less than 30 days notice cancellation terms apply.

Other Parties Using Premises


Should you book either the training room or the board room, Sydney Venue reserves the right to host other parties in other parts of the venue. Sydney Venue has a permanent tenant who have a right of access through the common area, but will not disturb parties using the venue in any way.

Usage, Damage and Insurance


The client is responsible for all and any damages caused to the Sydney Venue Premises during the room hire booking by any of the participants. No items are to be attached, pinned, stapled or glued to the wall surfaces of any function room, except with tape provided by Sydney Venue. Social Life Pty. Ltd does not accept responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to any client's or participant's equipment at the premises. Clients should ensure that their own insurance covers such items.

Consumption of Alcohol


Syndey Venue does not have a liquor licence and as such cannot supply alcohol in any form to clients. Clients are welcome to bring in and refrigerate any alcohol they may wish to consume at the end of their session. An extra $50 will be charged for use of glasses, fridges and additional cleaning.
